Video Dispatch: Inside an FDLR Demobilization Center

This dispatch takes viewers inside the MONUSCO-supported Disarmament, Demobilization, Repatriation, Reintegration and Resettlement (DDRRR) center at Goma, where FDLR combatants who have voluntarily surrendered undergo processing before repatriation to Rwanda or resettlement within DRC.

The footage — gathered over three days with MONUSCO permission — captures intake interviews, identity verification processes, and the often-fraught decision-making of combatants weighing return to a Rwanda many have not seen in decades against continued existence in the bush or resettlement in an unfamiliar DRC community.
